THE FIRST EVER FLIGHT
Travelling from one place to the other might take long hours and even days. Sitting in your car changing your sitting position every few kilometers has to be a tedious task after a long journey. Have you ever faced such situation, frankly speaking I face it in almost all my journeys. But today I thank two of my most favorite brother duo Orville and Wilbur Wright . They were the first one to touch the sky.
You have to agree, What a wonderful idea struck their mind? Flying like a bird is something one might have never thought of, but two brothers sitting in North Carolina thought this and made it to come into the real world.
The first ever plane to lift off was The Wright Flyer. For the first time the plane was off the ground for some 12 seconds and covered 120 feet before touchdown. Subsequently three more test flights were conducted on the same day. The final flight of the day was the best of all preceding flights liftoff for 59 seconds covering 852 feet.
MODERN AVIATION
Over the years the aviation has expanded itself to vast extends. The sky today is facing scarcity of space to accommodate more AIRCRAFTS. The sky which has no limits now is under the pressure to get its existence felt. You might have travelled in some aircraft at point of your life and if not so you might intend to fly some day. Today the aviation industry is in the monopoly of two very special airliners.
Boeing and Airbus are the currently the biggest aircraft manufactures.
Situated at Chicago, Seattle Boeing came into existence in 1916, and since has been ruling the sky.
With many series of jet planes Boeing has a special connection to their biggest aircraft The Queen of Sky , Boeing 747 is the most demanded and loved product of Boeing. For me the sight of a Boeing -747 liftoff or touchdown is the most fascinating sight for any aviation enthusiast.
For ruling the sky for almost 7 decades there was a birth of a new rival for the Boeing. On the land of Netherlands at Leiden in 1970, Airbus came to existence. The first developed aircraft being Airbus A300 was capable to carry 100-150 people on board.
The aviation industry has expanded to a very great extend but the roots of the industry will always the same, every journey has to be halted for some time in pilots language we can say as a LAYOVER. And for every layover we need a great landing as for this blog...
A ‘good’ landing is one from which you can walk away. A ‘great’ landing is one after which they can use the plane again.
